KASHMIRI MAYEER/ DOODH-WAEGRH

Mayeer is a salty porridge made by kashmiris especially in villages after the birth of a calf, but this recipe is still prevalent in many families as it has a very delightful taste, its a light food, easy to digest and best for elderly people.

Mayeer is prepared in two steps

1. Cooking the rice

2.  Preparing the mayeer by cooking the rice with curd

INGREDIENTS:

1. Rice                                   1Cup

2. Salt                                    as required

2. Cumin seeds                      1/2 tsp

4. Curd                                   1/2 kg

5. Ghee (optional)                   1 tsp

METHOD:

1. Wash and pressure cook rice in a pressure cooker till 4 whistles.

2. Mash the cooked rice using a laddle.

3. Take a pan and roast cumin seeds into it, then add well churned curd to it.

4. Keep stirring till the mixture in pan starts boiling

5. Add cooked rice to the curd mixture and adjust the consistency by adding water

6 Add ghee 1tsp
