Shakarpare from chestnut flour(singade ka aata)

 Shakarpare made from chestnut flour are very tempting and have a very filling taste. They are very good to have during fasting days. The can be prepared before the day of fasting and can be stored up to weeks. The are good to carry during travel too.

INGREDIENTS:

1. Chestnut flour                     250g/1cup

2. Milk                                    1/2 cup

3. Ghee                                   1 tsp

4. Sugar                                  4-5 tsp

RECIPE:

1. Mix sugar and milk together and use it to knead the chestnut flour. Add ghee 1 tsp and knead it well.(Do not add too much ghee otherwise the shakarpara will break and will not retain the shape.)

2. Make a dough ball and flatten it using a rolling pin into a thick bread

3. Cut the bread into small pieces as per the required size and shape

4 Fry in ghee/oil over low flame till dark golden brown in colour

5. Take out onto a plate 

Shakarpara is ready and can be stored and enjoyed with tea
