Baked Yaji

Yaji is from kashmiri cuisine. it is a tea time snack and is a traditional recipe of kashmiri's which is cooked on vahrath, which is mostly observed in the month of July. Yaji is cooked as baked Yaji or fried and steamed yaji.

Recipe:

Baked yaji is prepared in two steps:

1. Prepare the dough and make the yajis 
2. Baking the yajis.

INGREDIENTS:

1. Rice Flour                                                      250 gm
2. Salt                                                                as per taste 
3. Cumin Seeds                                                  1/2 Tsp
4. Walnuts                                                         as required
5. Oil                                                                  1-2 Tsp

STEPS:

1. Mix salt, rice flour, cumin seeds and walnuts together into a bowl.
2. Add water to make a soft dough.
3. Prepare the yaji by taking a small ball from the dough and giving it the shape of a small bowl.
4. Take a wok and place the yajis inverted and roast for 5-10 minutes.
5. Turn the yajis to cook from all the sides.
6. Add 1 Tsp oil and cover with the lid and let it cook for 5 Mins. 
7. After 5 Mins. Yaji is ready to serve.
