Drann Phel is a Kashmiri Tea Time Snack. It is a traditional recipe especially prepared on Maha Shivratri and offered as Navidam to Lord Shiva along with other kashmiri cuisines. It is prepared from rice flour and is one of the crunchiest snack ever.

Recipe:

Drann phel is prepared in three steps:
1. Prepare the dough from rice flour.
2. Bake a chapati from the dough over a griddle.
3. Cut the chapati into small pieces and fry them.

INGREDIENTS:

1. Rice flour                        1.5 cup
2. Walnuts                            6-7
3. salt                                   as per taste
4. Cumin seeds                    1/4 tsp
5. Carrom seeds                   1/4 tsp
6 Red chilly powder            1/2 tsp
7. oil                                     for frying

STEPS:

1. Mix few walnuts, cumin seeds, carrom seeds , Rice flour and salt and prepare a dough using water.
2. Make a round chapati from the prepared and bake it over a griddle(tawa)
3. Cut the prepared chapati into small pieces
4. Fry the small pieces and sprinkle a pinch of salt, red chilly powder and add few more walnuts.

Drann phel is ready to serve.
