BUTTER CHICKEN


Butter Chicken is a very tasty and creamy chicken curry. The shallow fried chicken pieces dipped in a very flavourful and smooth textured curry tastes delightful

RECIPE:

Butter chicken is prepared in three steps:
1. Marinating the chicken
2. Preparing the gravy
3 Cooking the shallow fried chicken in spicy gravy.

INGREDIENTS:

1. Chicken                        1kg
2. Curd                              5tsp
3. Ginger Garlic Paste      1/2 tsp
4. Turmeric Powder          1tsp
5. Red Chilly Powder       1tsp
6. Butter                            4tsp
7. Oil                                 2 tspo
8. Cumin seeds                  1/2 tsp
9. Bay leaf                          3 no
10 Thick cardamom           1 no
11 Cinnamon stick              1no
12 Ginger                             5 pieces small
13 Green chillies                 4 no
14 Onions                            3 no
15 Tomato                            3 no
16 Coriander powder           1/2 tsp
17 Dry fenugreek leaves      1tsp
18 cashew                             10 no
19 salt                                   as per taste
20 Cream                              5 tsp

STEPS:

1. Add curd, ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tsp turmeric  powder, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder to chicken, mix it        well and keep it marinated for atleast 30 Mins.
2. Take 1 tsp oil in a pan and add 1 tsp butter to it.
3. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, thick cardamom, ginger, green chillies, onions, tomatoes,     1/2/ tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chilly powder, coriander powder, dry fenugreek leaves and             cashews one by one in the given sequence.
4. Cook the mixture for 2 mins. and add water. Then cover with the lid and let it cook for 10 mins.
5. After 10 mins. cool this mixture of spices and transfer to a blending jar to make a paste.
6. In a pan add 1 tsp oil and 2 tsp butter, add the marinated chicken pieces and shallow fry them by            cooking for atleast 20 mins. by flipping and cooking from all sides till the chicken develops a golden     brown crust.   
7. Remove the fried chicken pieces from the pan. Add 1 tsp butter to the same pan and add the blended     paste to the pan, and add 5 tsp cream to it and let it cook for 5 mins. 
8. Add fried chicken pieces to it and cook for atleast 2 mins. add some water and cover with the lid.
9. Let it cook for 10 mins. 

After 10 mins. Butter Chicken is ready to serve.
